Okay, well, first of all, you need to realize that most cleansers on the market today are extremely drying. Many people don’t understand that a cleanser that dries out your skin will NOT help with their acne, so you’re ahead of the game by understanding that your previous cleansers have not been right for you!

There are several that are recommended by skin care specialists. Some non-drying, non-irritating cleansers are: Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, Dove Sensitive Essentials Fragrance Free Foaming Cleanser, Eucerin Gentle Hydrating Cleanser ($ 7.99 for 8 ounces), or Paula’s Choice Skin Recovery Cleanser (which you can get a $ 0.50 sample of at www.paulaschoice.com).

To be fair, though, it’s possible your cleanser isn’t the problem. Besides a gentle cleanser like the ones listed above, you also want to make SURE you are wearing sunscreen, because sun damage dries out skin. You need a good moisturizer as well. You want one with antioxidants, but it should not come in a clear jar or bottle, as light compromises these ingredients.

If your skin is still dry, you can also add a small amount of olive oil to your skin, as it contains anti-oxidants.

Incidentally, none of the advice here is “stuff my grandma told me” – this information comes from skin care research journals and books.

(Do NOT use bar soaps, Noxema, or anything else like that… these are going to be drying and irritating.)

What do you think? Answer below!

Try Avon Completely Clean Replenishing Cleansing Foam.
Goes beyond surface cleansing to work with your skin to replenish and recondition while deeply and thoroughly cleansing.
Flushes out impurities as it smoothes and moisturizes.

These are some of the best hings to use-

Noxema face cream cleanser with added moisturizer

    Ivory Soap

    Tea Tree Oil soap

    Burt’s Bees Tomato complexion soap

    Glycerin Soap

If you go to a health food store, you can generally find a display of soaps by a company called “The Soap Works”. They make soaps out of vegetable products so they’re not harsh and don’t irritate your skin. Looks throguh the soaps and pick out the one that would work best for the result you want. These soaps are really amazing, and are a must-have.

After you wash, you always want to moisturize. There are two I reccomend. Clean and Clear make a Dual Action moisturizer which moisturizes while fighting blemishes-getting rid of them and preventing them. They also make an oxygenating moisturizer, which works really well.

I had the same problem too, but these were some products that really worked for me!

Aveeno products are awesome. I find they do not dry my skin out at all.

HOWEVER, each persons skin is different, so I would suggest asking the people at the cosmetic counters to give you samples or suggestions on your skin type.

Do you use a moisturizer after cleansing? The normal practice is: wash, tone, and moisuturize in the areas that are not oily on your face.

    Hope that helps!

Try miessence organic cleansers. Very gentle but very effective. Expensive but well worth it! (www.miessence.com) or try using milk to cleanse or this recipes.
